Baytown Driver License Office Scheduled for One-day Closure

HOUSTON – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Baytown Driver License Office will be closed Friday, September 15, to repave the parking area. The office is expected to reopen to the public (at 8 a.m.) on Monday, September 18. (The Baytown office is located at 5420 Decker Drive, Baytown, TX 77520).

If customers need to visit an office an office during the one-day closure, they are encouraged to visit the Pasadena Driver License Office (located at 2783 Red Bluff Road, No. 100, Pasadena, TX 77503).

Many Texans are eligible to skip the trip to a driver license office altogether and instead take advantage of online services for driver license/ID card renewals, duplicates or address changes by visiting Texas.gov. Customers can also renew by phone at 1-866-357-3639. The eligibility requirements for phone renewal and online renewal are the same. The fee is the same for online, in-person and telephone renewals.
Important reminder: Customers may renew their Driver License/Texas ID card one year early prior to their expiration date, which allows them to choose a convenient time that fits their schedule.
